As a financial planning practitioner, Karl brings personal, customized strategies that help his clients pursue their financial goals. He serves over a hundred clients, primarily successful individuals, their families, and small business owners.
Karl began his financial advisor career in April of 1985 after obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from California State University Long Beach in May of 1984. Karl also earned his Certified Financial Planning designation, (CFP), from the College of Financial Planning in April of 1988, and his Chartered Financial Consultant certificate, (ChFC), from the American College in October of 1997. Before his tenure in financial services Karl spent nine years in restaurant management. More recently, Karl earned his Behavioral Financial Advice certificate, (BFA), in October of 2018.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Karl spent much youth body-surfing the local beach breaks of Oahu, hiking the Ko’olaus, or dirt biking in the Kahuku hills on the north shore. Karl’s off-road motorcycling led him to the Hawaii State 250cc Amateur Championship in July of 1973. He has been an Orange County resident since January of 1977 and currently resides in Rancho Mission Viejo with his wife, Jean, and their Wheaton Terrier, (Macey). They have three children; eldest, Chris, is employed as a senior process engineer with a local medical device manufacturing company, middle son, Hunter, works as a quality engineer, also at a local medical device manufacturer, and their youngest, Allison, is attending Saddleback College studying biology. Jean is a full-time mom and an avid amateur equestrian. Presently Karl spends most of his free time with his family. His favorite outdoor activity is cycling, either on his road bike or exploring one of the many Orange County trails on his mountain bike.
